Zarucco Duskywing is locally common throughout the state. The habitat is open forest edges, weedy fields, puddles on barren dirt roads and other open places. The hostplant is black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) and hairy bush-clover (Lespedeza hirta) as well as others. There are two broods. The first occurs in March in the Lower Coastal Plain (March 19, Grady County) and April farther north (April 1-19, Screven County) and early May (May 4, White County). The second occurs in mid-June (June 13, Taylor County) to late August (August 30, Camden County) into early September (September 12, Rabun County). Early Date: February 9 (Baker County); Late Date: September 12 (Rabun County). Conservation Status: Secure.
