Tawny-edged Skipper is uncommon to locally common statewide. It likes grassy habitats, damp meadows and streamsides, often moving out to drier habitats for nectar. The hostplants are panic grasses and slender crabgrass (Digitaria filiformis). There are two broods from late April (Talbot) through May (May 15-29, Jones Co) to mid-June (June 15, Towns Co) and early August (August 6, Rockdale Co) to late September (September 30, Charlton County). Early Date: “late April” (Talbot County); Late Date: September 30 (Charlton County). Conservation Status: Secure.
