Southern Broken-Dash

Southern Broken-Dash is common statewide. The habitat is forest edges and swamp and wetland edges. The hostplant is Paspalum grasses including thin paspalum (Paspalum setaceum). In some Coastal counties, St. Augustine grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) is likely used. There are two to three broods from late April (Coast) to late September (Lower Coastal Plain). Early Date: April 27 (Liberty County); Late Date: September 29 (Decatur County). Conservation Status: Secure.
