Silver-spotted Skipper

Silver-spotted Skipper is common statewide. It can be found in meadows, weedy fields, gardens and other open areas. The hostplants are black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthus), tick-trefoil (Desmodium), hog peanut (Amphicarpa bracteata), kudzu (Pueraria lobata) and others. There are three to four broods from March to September. Early Date: March 27 (Laurens County); Late Date: November 2 (Terrell County). Conservation Status: Secure.
