Sachem 
Atalopedes campestris

Sachem is common statewide. The habitat is disturbed open places with low grasses. The hostplants are Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon), crabgrass (Digitaria) and St. Augustine grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum). There are multiple broods, probably three, from May (May 12, Emanuel County) to November (November 5, Richmond County). Conservation Status: Secure.
