Phaon Crescent is mostly a coastal species and is common in the Coastal counties. It is also locally common across South Georgia and is casual north to Macon (Bibb County). The hostplants are Fogfruit (Lippia lanceolata) and Mat Grass (Lippia nodiflora), and Phaons are usually found near them. The habitat is open areas with closely cropped vegetation such as roadsides or abandoned airport runways (Harris Neck NWR). There are three to four broods in coastal counties from April to October where there are records from the following dates: March 16, April 3-28, May 2- 23, June 30, July 17-30, August 11, September 24-28. In Grady County (SW GA), there is a record from August 24, and in Monroe County (Southern Piedmont), there is a record from September 23, possibly representing a fall stray. Early Date: March 16 (Glynn County); Late Date: September 28 (McIntosh County). Conservation status: Secure
