Eufala Skipper
Lerodea eufala
Eufala Skipper is common in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont, but it is rare in the Mountains perhaps partially due to its cold intolerance. The habitat is a wide variety of open, flat grassy areas. The hostplants are grasses including Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense), Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) and St. Augustine grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum). There are two broods. The first occurs in March (March 17, Glynn County), April (April 7, Fulton County) and May (May 23, Bibb County and Bryan County) and the second occurs from August (August 7, Fulton County, August 21, Taylor County) through November (November 4, Early County, November 17, Monroe County). Conservation Status: Secure.
